Broadcast Technology use this most, experiencing hands-on the day-to-day operation of the state-of-the-art live television centre.
The Entertainment Technology and engineering courses are based around this part of the university. You'll find the Rare Motion Capture suite, and Film & Music Labs around here.

A vast majority of the Computing awards are based in here. Both the Business School & Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology (FCET) Receptions, where you submit assignments, are located here. The Octagon is also home to the large Red, Green & Blue Lecture Theatres.

Located within the entrance archway of Stafford Court, any problems you may encounter whilst living in halls can be addressed here. It's manned by accommodation staff during the day and there is a security guard overnight and at weekends.
Although it is open 24/7 during term time, its only staffed during office hours. The books mostly focus on FCET, Health & Business but you can order books from other university libraries to be delivered and picked up here. The Study Skills Centre is located within the Nelson Library and can offer help and advice with your work. This social space can be booked out by students who live in university accommodation. Useful if you want to host a small party or have a band practice, just call into the accommodation office and check that its free and book the time.

Home to the Faculty of Heath, and where most of the students from courses such as paramedic sciences, midwifery and nursing shall spend their time.
Yarlet provides 51 single study bedrooms. A traditional Hall of Residence on three floors, with each accommodating 17 residents who share a kitchen, dining room and four shower rooms.
Stafford Court has 264 en-suite single study bedrooms and 290 single study bedrooms with shared facilities. Grouped in flats of between three and seven study bedrooms, sharing catering facilities, the accommodation includes 19 specially adapted rooms for disabled students.
As a student, you will be able to hire this out at a reduced rate. If you join a club or society, you may get use of this facility as part of your membership fee.
The cafe offers affordable food, from grab'n'go snacks to fresh home cooked dishes. In addition there are a wide choice of confectionery and drinks available.
Food for Thought offers a range of hot and cold snacks, a fresh salad bar, homemade soup and Starbucks coffee. Internet access is also available giving you the opportunity to check your emails on the PCs.
A stylish cafe bar which is designed to provide premium Fairtrade coffee and quality home made fresh cakes and pastries, a variety of grab'n' go food and a fast 'call order' service.
The lodge houses university security staff and is the first point of contact for visitors driving onto campus.
